About Me

From my time university, I’ve had the opportunity to use my skills in a wide range of projects around design and have come ever more interested in how the digital world can enhance and influence the more conventional products we use every day. I explored this with my most recent HoT: Heating of things project incorporating many aspects of design including digital UI and UX, industrial design, electronics, back-end programming, and much more all tied together as an IoT system to reduce energy consumption. Whether my future is continuing to be spread out through design or specialising into an area, this experience has made me a better designer either way.
There are two main passions in my life. One is design (of course) and the other is exercise. More specially, running. From playing football in my childhood among other sports like badminton, running came into my life at the start of university with a more serious focus of becoming fitter and performing ever better than before. Now with the daily training I do including other activities like weight training and cycling, it’s something that has become integrated into my everyday life (David Goggins would approve). Also, this has given me some other useful benefits as mentally, it’s been a source of relief and improved my attitude to become a harder worker and more resilient day to day in everything I do.
In my past time, I may dabble into some video games (Baldur’s Gate 3 is pretty good), but I like to catch-up on what is happening in the world of design so I can keep up to date on the news and key trends throughout the year. Whether it’s a special cabinet that’s caught my eye, or a fancy digital interaction feature, I look to learn from this noting down things like how was it made, why did the design go this way, what key considerations were there, and other key aspects so when I find myself in a rut during my design career, I have something to look back on for some inspiration.
